Glam it up

Bret Michaels to rock the Palace

Glam metal veteran Bret Michaels has signed onto The Palace Theatre's spring lineup in the Queen City. As frontman of Poison, Michaels helped the band define its gritty-glam persona. The group charted 10 singles, including the No. 1 tune "Every Rose has it's Thorn." Since then Michael's crafted a diverse career as rocker, reality TV star ("Rock of Love," "Celebrity Apprenctice), spokesperson, businessman and philanthropist. His solo discs include 2010's "Custom Built" and "Good Songs and Great Friends," which features a duet with Jimmy Buffett ("Margaritaville"), a cover of "Sweet Home Alabama" with Gary Rossington, Rickey Medlocke and Peter Keys from Lynyrd Skynyrd, and a remake of "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" with Loretta Lynn. Michaels' most popular tunes include, "Unskinny Bop," "Your Momma Don't Dance," "Nothin' but a Good Time," "Fallin' Angel," and "Somthin' to Believe In." Tickets to the May 29 show range from $49.50 to $104.50, and go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday online at www.palacetheatrelorg or at the box office at 668-5588.
