PELHAM — Selectmen are still refusing to release any information regarding their decision to place Town Administrator Tom Gaydos on administrative leave.
Tuesday night's board meeting was the first public meeting since the board made the decision to place Gaydos on leave during an emergency nonpublic meeting on Jan. 9. Town staff were notified of the decision following the meeting and also told that Police Chief Joseph Roark would handle the town administrator's responsibilities.
At Tuesday night's meeting, board chairman Ed Gleason spoke to several reporters before the meeting and made a public statement on the situation at the beginning of the meeting.
Gleason said there would be no further information until a resolution is reached "out of respect to those involved."
While Gleason said he hoped the matter is resolved quickly, he added that there is no time line in place and that selectmen will take as long as they need to in order to come to a proper resolution.
"The town administrator is on administrative leave and that is all we can say about that," Gleason said. "Once we have a resolution on it, everyone will be notified."
Gaydos has been the town administrator since 2002.
Before coming to Pelham, he worked in Ashland and Ossipee.
