"Ray was a very modest guy," Carver said Monday.
Thanks to Burton's big, yellow convertible, everyone knew when the 18-term New Hampshire executive councilor was coming, especially to fair-weather events like parades and car shows.
"We have both of his parade cars, including the 1988 Cadillac Coupe de Ville Brougham," Carver said.
That will be available, along with an array of his political memorabilia, including campaign pins, buttons and presentation pieces.
The collection ranges from Burton's hundreds of player-piano music rolls to an array of family furniture that includes his mother's antique Hoosier cabinet, still, Carver said, in its original condition.
Buyers can preview the items for sale Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and again Saturday morning for two hours prior to auction.
