Claremont store robber sought in Friday holdup

CLAREMONT — Police continue to hunt for the man who robbed Jiffy Mart on Friday night, making off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The man, who was wearing a hat or hoodie with ski goggles, told the store clerk he had a gun, though no gun was shown, police said.

He was wearing tan pants, a tan jacket, and a pink scarf when he entered the Maple Avenue store at about 8:40 p.m. He was described as a white male between 5'8" and 5'10".

After fleeing the store, he ran behind the Hitching Post restaurant, police said.

With a search dog from New Hampshire State Police, investigators found possible DNA evidence.

Claremont police ask anyone with information about the crime to call the police department at 542-9538.

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
