SALEM — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a pizza delivery man  in an apartment building on Cluff Crossing Road on Sunday night.

Police said they responded at 8:04 p.m. to 103 Cluff Crossing Road, where a 21-year-old man was allegedly robbed. The victim told police a man came up behind him and put him in a headlock, police said.

The attacker told the victim that he had a knife and threatened to kill him if he didn’t hand over all his money, according to police. The victim told police he felt a sharp objected pressed into the back of his neck.

The robber made off with between $150 and $180, and fled on foot, police said.

A witness who lives in the apartment building opened his apartment door and spotted the suspect running down the hallway and out the door, police said.

A police dog followed the scent to another building before losing the trail, police said. The suspect is described as a white male standing just over six feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds, police said. He is believed to be in his mid-20s with stubby facial hair.
