NASHUA — A 55-year-old bicyclist remains at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after he was struck by a van Monday morning on Amherst Street.
The man was identified as Kevin Johnson of Nashua and was originally listed in critical, but stable condition.
On Tuesday, Lt. Michael Moushegian of the Nashua Police Department said Johnson is expected to survive his injuries.
Johnson was biking across the road from the area of D'Angelo's Restaurant to the Mandarin Restaurant when he was struck by a minivan driven by Christina St. George, 21, of 98 Deerwood Drive.
Although the accident is still under investigation, Moushegian said he does not anticipate that any charges will be filed, but he stressed the investigation is still in the early stages.
"These things tend to take awhile. We still have to conduct safety inspections on the vehicle and bike," he said. "It could be weeks or more before we release a determination of cause and fault."
Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact city police at 594-3500.
