John Stark High students focus on human trafficking

January 13. 2014 8:07PM

WEARE — Raising awareness about human trafficking is the purpose of a presentation at John Stark Regional High School on Wednesday night.

The school’s World Novel class is holding the event from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 248 at the high school.

There will be a showing of the movie “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide,” and presentations by students.

Stark students were inspired to focus on the crime of human trafficking after reading the novel “Sold” by Patricia McCormick.
