Pedestrian airlifted to Boston hospital after Nashua crash

NASHUA - A Nashua man struck by a minivan as he was walking a bicycle across busy Route 101A at Deerwood Drive was airlifted to a Boston hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.



The accident happened about 8:30 a.m. Monday, according to Sgt. Randy Dumais.



Police said Kevin Johnson, 55, was crossing Amherst Street from the area of D’Angelo’s restaurant to the area of the Mandarin restaurant. The bicyclist was not in a crosswalk; the collision occurred in the left travel lane.



The 21-year-old Nashua woman driving the minivan was traveling east on Amherst Street in the left travel lane, police said. The department’s accident reconstruction team responded.



Police said the investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses are asked to contact the Nashua Police Department at 594-3500.
