Monarchs fall to Albany

Scott Timmins scored twice and assisted on another goal to propel the Albany Devils to a 5-2 triumph over the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday at The Times Union Center.
Timmins opened the scoring in the first period, and his second goal gave Albany (21-10-5) a 3-1 lead in the second.
Brian O'Neill collected a goal and an assist for the Monarchs, who received 16 saves from Jean-Francois Berube. Nick Shore scored Manchester's other goal. O'Neill's goal was his ninth of the season. Shore has seven goals.
Despite the loss, the Monarchs (24-10-6) lead the Atlantic Division with 54 points.
Kelly Zajac, Joe Whitney and Brandon Burlon also scored for Albany (21-10-5). Whitney's goal came during a power play.
and handed Albany a 4-1 lead. Burlon scored an empty-net goal with 44 seconds to play. Albany's Keith Kinkaid stopped 21 shots.
Each team scored once in four power-play opportunities.
