One person injured in Nashua car fire

NASHUA - One person sustained burns during a car fire shortly before noon on Saturday near Sandy Pond Park, according to fire officials.

Deputy Fire Chief Karl Gerhard of the Nashua Fire Department said a 37-year-old man was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries following the fire.

'I can't characterize the injuries,' Gerhard said, declining to elaborate on what type of burns the man suffered.

Little information about the incident was available Saturday afternoon. Gerhard refused to comment on whether the vehicle fire, which occurred at 9 National St., was suspicious in nature.

'It is under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal,' said Gerhard. The victim's name was not provided.
