Woman reports prowler visited in Manchester a third time

MANCHESTER — A constant prowler was reported by a city woman who told police that for a third time in about a month a man knocked on her window late at night. The first time, she said, he exposed himself to her when she looked out.

The woman didn’t call police the first two times. On Wednesday, however, when someone again knocked on her 130 W. Clarke St. apartment window about 11:15 p.m., she called police, but only after first calling some friends who live across the street from her.

They spotted a man leaving the area and chased after him but lost him when he ran behind a building on West River Road.

The woman told police this is the third time someone has been outside her apartment window in the late evening hours. On the first occasion, about a month ago, a man knocked on the window and exposed himself when she looked out.

She described him as a white man, about 40 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall and wearing dark clothes.

A few weeks later, she said, there was another knock at the window, but she did not open the blinds to investigate further.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call police at 668-8711. Anonymous tips for cash rewards may be made through Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040 or online at
