Hit and run crashes in Goffstown and Manchester blamed on single driver

MANCHESTER -- Drunken driving charges will be pressed against a motorist who police said ran into a light pole in Goffstown, fled the scene and proceeded to cause a hit-and-run crash on Manchester's West Side involving a car carrying a pregnant woman.
The arrested woman was "extremely intoxicated," police said.
According to officers, the woman driving the car hit a light pole in Goffstown but was tracked into Manchester by concerned citizens. On the city's West Side, the woman became involved in an accident at Rimmon and Bremen streets at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Police said a pregnant woman was in the car hit by the wayward motorist. She was taken for a hospital evaluation, but police said she did not appear to be seriously hurt.
A trail of debris from the hit-and-run car, along with a good description of the car and the license tag number, led to the vehicle being stopped a short distance away. The driver was said by responding officers to be "extremely intoxicated" at the time she was taken into custody.
It was a busy night in the Queen City for members of the police force. Several brawls, domestic disturbances, complaints about noise and disorderly patrons in public houses were reported throughout the New Year's eve celebrations.
City police said at least eight people were arrested, many for alcohol-related crimes.
