Wicked Snocross on track in Rumney
But during the winter months, there should be more opportunity for business, he thought.
That open field is now a new business started by Killion, his brother John Killion of Concord, Chris Knudson of Rumney and Patrick Gibson of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., called Wicked Snocross.
The business opened last month amid lots of natural snow falling, but the course presently is filled with mostly snow made with two SMI fan gun snowmaking machines that the owners purchased. And, this week, there were lots of snowmobilers making use of the course.
"It's fun for people who want to see what the racing experience is like," Killion said. "The track was designed for all abilities, from young children to the average public snowmobile rider. And a few times we've had some pros in here too."
The track is open from 9-3:30 p.m., seven days a week, and the owners plan to have it open at least until March 15.
The owners hope to establish some sort of local race at the track in the weeks ahead.
