Police dog tracks store robber to Conway motel room

December 30. 2013 11:37AM

CONWAY - A state police dog tracked a man who robbed the Family Dollar store in Conway Saturday to a local motel, where police were able to recover some of the items taken in the robbery, but they did not arrest anyone.

Conway police say the armed robbery happened at 5:22 p.m. Saturday at the store located at 234 White Mountain Highway. The clerk said a white male with a firearm pushed her aside and took money from the register.

The man was described as 6-foot-2, with a thin build and wearing a gray jacket and jeans, along with a black mask. He left the store on foot and headed toward the state liquor store.

The state police canine conducted a track which led police to the White Deer Motel, just north of the Dollar Store on Route 16. Police obtained a search warrant and searched one of the rooms, where they found items believed involved in the crime.

Conway police are investigating and ask that anyone with information conact them at 356-5715.
