UPDATED: Man in custody after large police search in Salisbury


SALISBURY – A large contingent of police, aided by a police helicopter, spent more than two hours in search of a man in relation to a reported domestic assault Friday night.

Authorities confirmed that fire-rescue crews were called to a site near the flood-control section of town to a reported domestic assault.

Police began the search sometime before 8 p.m. The man was reported in custody just before 10 p.m.

The man had been in contact with a family member as he was being chased, according to police reports.
