RINDGE — A teenager was severely injured while helping his father attempt to repair an old snowmobile Saturday afternoon.
Police responded a North Street home shortly after 4 p.m., police said Monday.
The father had asked his 15-year-old son to hold up the rear of the old Arctic Cat snowmobile while he opened up the throttle of the vehicle while working to make it run better, police said.
The father accelerated the snowmobile, causing one of the tracks to break. It swung out and struck the boy's legs and cut off his boots, police said.
The teen suffered serious injuries to his legs and was taken Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough for treatment.
