Derry School Board finalizes budget calling for 1.37 percent cut
Members of the School Board and the Fiscal Advisory Committee met in a series of meetings over the past several weeks to work on the budget. The final budget calling for spending $80,817,146.18, was finalized in a joint meeting of the two groups on Dec. 16.
The budget declined $1,086,544.36 from last year's approved budget of $81,903,690. The packags is $333, 645.99 less than the default budget of $81,150, 792, said Jane Simard, business manager for the school district.
Simard said two positions will be reduced at Derry Village Elementary School; two at East Derry Memorial Elementary School; one at South Range Elementary School; and one at West Running Brook Middle School.
"It doesn't appear at this time that any jobs will be lost," Simard said.
The final budget includes $2.5 million in food service and federal funds that are self-funded, she said.
