Merrimack police arrest father, 51 and son, 18, in marijuana case

MERRIMACK - Complaints from the public and a controlled purchase by an undercover officer are given credit by police for what they said was the arrest of a father and son in an apartment building drug.

Timothy Soucy, 51, and Jonathan Soucy, 18, who police said was Timothy Soucy's son, were arrested late last week on charges including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute..

Investigators said complaints from residents of a Loudon Court address that individuals were possibly selling drugs from inside a residence led to a month-long investigation. Police said undercover officers made purchases of marijuana from Jonathan Soucy and then raided an apartment at 140 Loudon Court.

Detectives said a "quantity" of marijuana was located inside the residence and linked to Timothy Soucy and arrested him on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Jonathan Soucy arrived home during the search, police said, and put up a struggle when police attempted to arrest him, officers said. In short order he joined his father in the lock-up at the Merrimack police station.

The younger Soucy was charged with charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, unlawful sale of marijuana, resisting arrest and two counts of assault.

Both were held at the Valley Street Jail pending arraignment Monday.
