Police say drunken driver, 20, plowed into cruiser on D.W. Highway

December 22. 2013 1:37AM

MERRIMACK— A 20-year-old Hudson man was charged with underage DWI after he allegedly struck a state police cruiser on D.W. Highway early Saturday, police said.

Erick M. Wayman-Baxter was also charged with (improper) conduct after an accident.
No one was hurt in the 5 a.m. crash.

State police said Trooper First Class Kieran Fagan was patrolling the highway northbound when a southbound vehicle crossed the double yellow lines into the path of his cruiser.

Fagan pulled to the far right shoulder, but the vehicle sideswiped his cruiser and then continued on without stopping.

The trooper was able to catch up to the vehicle about a mile later. Wayman-Baxter was arrested and released on bail. He will be arraigned in Circuit Court, Merrimack District, on Jan. 9.
