Bishop Guertin boys top Salem in OT

Kyle Gavin connected for 35 points, including six in overtime, to lead Bishop Guertin of Nashua to a 72-67 Division I season-opening boys’ basketball win against Salem in Nashua Thursday. The game was tied 59-59 after regulation and Gavin sealed the game with four free throws in the final minute of overtime.
 
Gavin had seven rebounds and teammate Joe Marandola had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Costas Niarhos chipped in nine points for the winners.

Tim Dodier led Salem with 18 points.

Girls’ basketball

Bow 51, Fall Mountain 48: Samantha Lulka tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds for 3-1 Bow.

Senior teammate Kirsten Bresson added 15 points and six rebounds for the Falcons.

Boys’ hockey

ConVal 5, Manchester West 4: In Manchester, Eric Leger led ConVal with two goals and one assist and Isaiah Taylor added two goals.

West’s goals came off the sticks of Zach Allard, Alex Wright (two) and Noah Cote.
