Senior forward Andrew Lowman tossed in a game-high 22 points and junior point guard David Carbonello finished with 16 as the Windham boys’ basketball team posted a 68-45 victory over Con-Val on Friday night in the Division II opener for each school.

It was a 10-10 game after one quarter, but Windham took control by outscoring Con-Val 26-7 in the second quarter. Jordan Moore (12) and Noah Cail (10) led Con-Val.


Coe-Brown 49, Souhegan 48: At Amherst, Coe-Brown’s Sam Langdon hit a 3-pointer with 30 seconds to play as the Bears posted a one-point victory. Souhegan used a 16-0 run to take a 47-45 lead late in the fourth quarter.

Pembroke 68, Lebanon 65: Dylan Gage hit a 3-pointer with three seconds left for visiting Pembroke in a Division II opener.

Girls’ basketball

Portsmouth 71, Pelham 49: At Portsmouth, freshman forward Heather Durand scored a game-high 20 points to help the Clippers prevail in the Division II opener for each team.

Newmarket 52, Portsmouth Christian 33: At Newmarket, Sammy Leahy tossed in a game-high 16 points to highlight Newmarket’s victory.

Souhegan 49, Coe-Brown 44: At Northwood, Coe-Brown scored 23 points in the fourth quarter, but still came up short against Souhegan in the Division II opener for each school. Souhegan led 17-13 at halftime and 30-21 entering the fourth.
