This Week's Rare Bird Alert

This is New Hampshire Audubon’s Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Snowy owls continued to be reported in New Hampshire during the past week including one at the Kollsman Sports Fields Complex in Merrimack on Dec. 11, one near Fort Stark in New Castle on the 11th, one in Greenland, one at Ragged Neck in Rye and one at Sam’s Club in Manchester on the 8th, one in fields along Ten Rod Road in New Durham on the 7th, seven in Rye and one in Hampton on the 6th, and one near the mouth of the Lamprey River in Newmarket on the 5th.

A clay-colored sparrow was seen among house sparrows on School Street in Allenstown on Dec. 8.

An Iceland gull was seen at Rockingham Park in Salem on Dec. 11.

Two Barrow’s goldeneyes were seen in the Merrimack River in Manchester near 250 Commercial Street on Dec. 5.

Two rusty blackbirds were seen in Pittsfield on Dec. 11.

A late-migrating brown thrasher was seen in Berlin on Dec. 8.
