UPDATE: Mother, daughter fell from Crotched Mountain ski lift

BENNINGTON – Officials at Crotched Mountain Ski & Ride Area said it was a mother and her six-year-old daughter who fell from the charlift at the area Wednesday afternoon.
"The mother was transported by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital and the daughter was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, said general manager Pat Terry. "It is unclear at this point on how they came off the lift; however a mechanical issue was clearly not the case. We are investigating and continuing to gather witness statements."
The accident happened Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., when the two fell approximately 25 feet. They were riding the Rocket quad and the accident happened around the halfway point up the mountain at tower six when they fell onto a trail called Pluto's Plunge.
The New Hampshire Tramway Board was at the mountain Wednesday evening, and according to Terry confirmed there were no mechanical issues with the lift.
The ski area is not releasing the names of the two but did say the family lives in New Hampshire.
