Greenfield planners seek input on Heritage District plan proposal
The board plans to hold a community meeting Saturday to garner feedback on the idea.
This will be the first time the public will see the proposed ordinance, which after feedback from the public will be tweaked and finalized for a March Town Meeting vote, said Planning Board Chairman Robert Marshall on Thursday.
The community consensus has been that creating a Historic District would be too restrictive, Marshall said. “A Historic District is much more strict. This is much more recommendation and advisory.”
Consultants hired with the grant funds drafted the original proposed ordinance in October, which was then recrafted by the Neighborhood District Advisory Committee and the Planning Board.
