A man with a small wooden bat tried to rob the A1 gas station in Goffstown Wednesday night, leaving without any money, but police suspect the same man was more successful later in a Bow convenience store robbery.
In Goffstown, the man tried to rob the A1 gas station, but a clerk rebuffed his demand for cash and he fled with nothing. Police said the robbery attempt happened about 10:15 p.m. at the 696 Mast Road gas station. A police dog, brought to the scene, was unable to track down the man.
Later in the evening, about 11:50 p.m., police said a man walked into the All Town convenience store on 726 Route 3A, Bow, brandishing a small baseball bat and demanding money from the register. The clerk complied and the man fled with more than $200 in cash.
In both cases, the robber is described as being about 6-feet tall. In Gofftown, the clerk described him as weighing between 160 and 170 pounds and wearing a navy blue, hooded sweatshirt, dark gloves, light blue jeans with a dark cloth covering his mouth. In Bow, he was described as wearing a dark-colored ski mask, gloves, hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
