Pelham man arrested in theft of jewelry
PELHAM - A Pelham man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a felony warrant for receieving stolen property in connection with a Thanksgiving day burglary.
Damon Bonnell, 36, was out on bail from a previous Pelham arrest. In that incident, police said he was found hiding inside the trunk of a vehicle.
The Thanksgiving day burglary on Nancy Avenue resulted in the theft of $35,000 in jewelry and a 9mm handgun, according to police. Pelham and Salem detectives found the stolen jewelry at a pawn shop in Salem.
After issuing a warrant for Bonnell, detectives learned he was wanted on other warrants in Massachusetts and one for a parole violation from the N.H. Department of Corrections.
Bonnell surrendered Wednesday without incident. Detectives are still investigating the whereabouts of the stolen firearm.
Bonnell was taken to the Salem Police Department to be processed on the warrant.
