A man from Pembroke, N.H., has pleaded guilty to robbing Kennebunk Savings in Eliot, Maine, on Oct. 19 and the Ocean Communities Federal Credit Union in Sanford, Maine, on Oct. 26.

Daniel Barry, 38, of Pembroke, faces up to 25 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, or both, on each count, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II in Portland, Maine.

Barry pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Portland to armed bank robbery charges. According to court records, during the Kennebunk Savings robbery, Barry vaulted over the teller counter and took $7,896 from the teller drawers, while an associate pointed a Ruger Red Hawk .44 Magnum revolver at tellers.

Barry was also the source of a Dan Wesson .22 caliber revolver that was used to rob $8,574 from Ocean Communities Federal Credit Union. Both firearms were recovered during a search of Barry's residence.

He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the United States Probation Office.

This case was investigated by the FBI, Maine State Police, and the Eliot, Kittery, Sanford, Berwick, York, Maine and Exeter, Somersworth, Alton and Pembroke, N.H., police departments.
