Mega Millions jackpot expected to reach $400m

The New Hampshire Mega Millions jackpot for Friday night’s drawing is expected to reach $400 million, with an estimated one-time cash payout option of $216.4 million. This is the second-largest jackpot ever in the history of the game, and the fifth-largest ever in North America.

No one won the top prize of $344 million in Tuesday night’s drawing.

If one ticket matches all six numbers for the $400 million mega-jackpot, the winner will have the choice of receiving the full jackpot in 30 annual payments, or a cash option of $216.4 million. The jackpot has been growing since Oct. 1, 2013. The jackpot has now rolled 20 times without a winner.

Mega Millions tickets cost $1 per play. Mega Millions tickets are on sale at more than 1,250 retailers in New Hampshire until 9:50 p.m. Friday night.
