Job applicant charged with helping himself to a couple of bottles of champagne
MANCHESTER — Police say a thief made it easy for them to track him down because he filled out a job application at the 7-Eleven before swiping two bottles of champagne from the store.
Chandra Gajmer, 18, of 91 West St., went to the 7-Eleven at 85 S. Main St. about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday and began filling out a job application. The clerk, waiting on a customer, heard the sounds of bottles clanging together and looked up to see the job applicant leaving the store with two bottles of Andre champagne.
Police said the thief had given his name and address on the job application, and officers went to his nearby address, found Gajmer and the bottles of champagne.
Gajmer, who police said appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, was arrested and charged with theft and illegal possession of alcohol.
He is also charged with criminal trespass due to a previous incident on Dec. 5 at the same store when an officer banned him from entering the 7-Eleven at the request of management.
