Hudson man facing DWI charge after crash

RICHARD PHILLIPS

HUDSON — A local man was arrested Wednesday night after police said he fled the scene of an accident in which his car sideswiped a utility pole and went off the road, crashing into some trees and brush.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. off Bush Hill Road by Flying Rock Road. The driver, identified by police as Richard Phillips, 48, of Hudson, was found hiding on the Benson's Park property about a half-mile from the accident scene, authorities said.

He was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, conduct after an accident and resisting arrest or detention.

What's next: Phillips is free on $300 cash bail pending arraignment in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
