Deerfield town official resigns
Boswak is the second high profile town official to step down. Police Chief Mike Greeley announced last month he was retiring Dec. 31.
Boswak, who called the Board of Selectmen a great group to work with, said she did not inform any board member of her decision prior to Monday’s meeting.
Boswak said that the feeling was mutual, and that she will miss the residents of Deerfield.
She added that she has no specific advice for whomever the Board chooses to replace her.
“Everyone is really easy to work with, the Board of Selectmen is wonderful, and the department heads are all great,” Boswak said.
“We’re kind of scrambling how to replace her; we only found out last night. We will post it as soon as possible, and in the next couple of meetings we’ll figure out a procedure to replace her,” Barry said.
“(Chief Greeley) feels that he has put his time in and it’s time to move on. He has been with the town about 10 years, and I was very happy with the job he has done. I wish him well in his retirement,” Barry said.
