UNH Wildcat gridders up to 15th in polls
The Wildcats jumped to 15th in both FCS national polls. In the Sports Network FCS Top 25, released Sunday, the pollsters raised the Wildcats six spots. On Monday, the voters in the FCS Coaches Poll boosted UNH nine spots, up from 24th.
On Monday, Casey DeAndrade, a redshirt freshman defensive back, was honored as CAA football rookie of the week. DeAndrade recorded a career-high seven tackles (six solo, one assisted), one interception and a pass breakup to increase his CAA-leading total to 17, which ranks fourth in the nation.
In men’s ice hockey, UNH remained at No. 20 in Monday’s USCHO.com national poll. The Wildcats were not ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey poll.
UNH plays a midweek non-league home game tonight at 7 against Harvard. The game will be televised on WBIN. The Wildcats close out November with two road games against Colorado College Friday (9:37 p.m.) and Saturday (9:07 p.m.).
