DOVER – Police arrested a Maine woman after they say she called the police business line Saturday morning and indicated a package may arrive and blow up.
Chelsea Louise Lynn, 24, of 2124 Sanford Road, No. 24, Wells, Maine, was charged with causing false public alarm after she allegedly called the police business line Saturday around 9:02 a.m.
During an investigation, police reported they determined Lynn used her cellphone to make the call in which she stated, “... I just want to let you know your town sucks and beware of any packages because you may be blown up today or tomorrow ... Good bye, (Expletive).”
“Lynn is known to the Dover Police Department; however the exact motivation for the call is unknown,” police said in a release.
Police apprehended Lynn Saturday around 5:40 p.m. She was released on $75,000 personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned in 7th Circuit Court, Dover District Division, Jan. 6.
Causing false public alarm is a Class A misdemeanor which could yield up to a year in jail.
