Mr. and Mrs. Martel celebrate 60th
Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Martel of Manchester recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.
Mr. Martel and the former Jeanne Annis were married Aug. 29, 1953, at St. Joseph's Chapel, Manchester.
Mr. and Mrs. Martel have four children: Judy McColgan of Salem, and her husband, Peter; Rob Martel of Exeter, and his wife, Marcy; Tom Martel of Manchester; and Sharon Cox of Candia, and her husband, Richard.
They have six grandchildren, Jillian McColgan, Salem; Connor, Caroline and Charlotte Martel of Exeter; and Aidan and Trevor Cox of Candia.
The couple's children and grandchildren hosted an anniversary party for them at their daughter's home in Salem on Oct. 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Martel were given a frame for their wedding and anniversary pictures. They were also given money to put toward their next cruise to Bermuda.
Mr. Martel is retired from the Army National Guard, where he was a CW4 as a U.S. Property Fiscal Officer in Concord.
Mrs. Martel is retired from Annie's Book Store, where she worked for a number of years after raising her children.
