Londonderry man charged in 'Butane Honey Oil' arrest
Londonderry Police, in conjunction with the United States Postal Inspection Service, arrested Kyle Pedrick, 21, Friday evening after a parcel containing approximately two pounds of suspected marijuana was delivered to Pedrick's home, Londonderry Police Detective Christopher Olson said.
According to police reports, Pedrick's home was subsequently searched and assorted firearms, $19,000 in cash and a substance believed to be Butane Honey Oil, along with items suspected to be used to manufacture the drug, were found on the premises.
Butane Honey Oil, also known as hash oil, is an illegal narcotic that can be produced in a home kitchen by boiling commercial butane liquid and marijuana.
Instructions on how to manufacture the drug are readily available on the Internet, though experts warn the process is extremely dangerous due to the highly explosive nature of butane.
Pedrick was held on $20,000 cash bail at the Rockingham County Prison. He faces two charges of possession of controlled/narcotic drugs, possession of controlled/narcotic drugs with intent to distribute and manufacturing of a controlled drug.
Arraignment is scheduled at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 25 at the Derry Circuit Court.
