Aldermen say no to student housing tower in Manchester

MANCHESTER – The Board of Mayor and Aldermen Tuesday rejected a proposal for a student housing tower on the site of the Pearl Street parking lot.

The proposal, from a Massachusetts-based developer, would have required the city to bond a significant share of the costs.

The city's finance director said such bonding was legally unworkable and the proposal itself was financially unsound
