Manchester man arraigned on stalking, other counts

MANCHESTER — A man facing trial Dec. 3 in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division on criminal threatening and possession of a controlled drug charges was arraigned Monday on two new sets of charges.

Thomas Mullen, 53, who was barred by bail conditions on the original charges from 348 Spruce St., where he lived with the alleged victim, was arraigned Nov. 9 on charges of simple assault (2), obstructing the report of a crime and stalking for allegedly going to the Spruce Street address, assaulting the same woman and preventing her from calling police.

He was also arraigned on a Nov. 15 stalking charge for again going to the residence, and police prosecutors filed a motion to revoke Mullen’s bail and have him held until trial Dec. 3.

Says son pawned TV

Adam Bartlett, 42, of 92 Walnut St., pleaded innocent Monday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to misdemeanor charges of simple assault and unauthorized use of rental property and trial was set for Dec. 16.

A police prosecutor requested $1,000 cash/surety bail, saying Bartlett pushed his son against a wall during an argument and didn’t return a television set to Rent-A-Center. Bartlett told Judge Gregory Michael that his son pawned the TV set. He said he found his son in the bathroom with a needle in his arm, but the police said he had no right to put his hands on his son. Michael set bail at $1,000 personal recognizance, with conditions barring contact with Bartlett’s son and barring him from the Walnut Street address.
