Laconia drug suspect charged in convenience store hold-up

LACONIA -- Police have arrested a homeless man on charges of selling a narcotic drug and have charged him in the robbery of a convenience store last Sunday.Joseph Desbien, 31, described as a transient, was arrested Tuesday at about 8:20 p.m. on a warrant charging him with sale of a narcotic drug.A police investigation had identified Desbien as the suspect in the robbery of the P & P Market on Elm Street in Laconia. He refused the services of a bail commissioner and will be arraigned in Laconia District Court by video link.
