Man robbed of cash, cellphone in Concord

CONCORD - A man walking on South Street near the South Street Market about 8:30 Tuesday evening reported he was robbed of cash and his cellphone by a masked man who asked for a cigarette.
Concord police said the victim told them the man was wearing a skull bandana over his face, gloves, a dark hoodie, and dark pants. He was described as a skinny, white male, approximately 6-feet tall.
The robber showed a black handgun, and after taking the phone and cash from the man's wallet, fled on foot east on Thorndike Street.
Detectives from the Concord Police Department are investigating, and anyone who witnessed the incident or has more information is asked to call 225-8600 or the Concord Regional Crimeline at 226-3100.
