MANCHESTER — The National Association of Current and Retired Federal Employees will meet Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the A.L. Sweeney Post Hall, 251 Maple St., Manchester. The guest speaker will be a representative from the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Granite State College.

Social Security talk at RiverWoods in Exeter
EXETER — RiverWoods, a continuing care retirement community, will host a free presentation on Social Security on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Herbert Salls, former manager of the Manchester Social Security district, will be the presenter.
The future of Social Security draws debate from both sides of the political aisle, but it’s important to know what Social Security will mean in practical terms in your life today.
A question and answer session will follow the presentation. It will be at RiverWoods,The Ridge, 10 White Oak Drive, Exeter. Light refreshments will be served.

Retired men’s group hosts speaker Nov. 19
MANCHESTER — N.H. Retired Men’s Association will present a speaker on how low-vision aids work to help visually impaired people be independent on Nov. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The meeting is at Catholic Medical Center’s Community Health Services Conference Room located on the lower level floor at 195 McGregor St., across the street from Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.
It is free and open to all interested men. It is a hands-on presentation in which participants will have an opportunity to look through a BIOPTIC to see how it magnifies signage, road environments and conditions, enabling the driver with low-vision to spot and read road signs.
The presenter, Rene Paquin, teaches visually impaired people to adapt magnifiers, telescopes, and electronic devices to enlarge areas of the world they need to see.

Health insurance session at Amherst library
AMHERST — On Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m., the Amherst Town Library is hosting a session titled Health Insurance Marketplace Educational in the Johnson Meeting Room of the Library.
The library is at 14 Main St., Amherst. This educational session, led by an AARP Health Marketplace educator, will provide an overview of who is eligible, how to enroll, information on tax credits, and options for those with limited incomes.
Although the presenter Sarah Kelsea is connected to AARP, this program is not limited to seniors, but is open to all who need to learn the details of the new health insurance system.
This presentation is free and open to the public.

Littleton Thanksgiving dinner is Nov. 21
LITTLETON — The Littleton Area Senior Center will host its annual Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 21 with turkey with all the fixings served by the Littleton High School Honor Society.
It includes a free basket raffle that day.
