Hanover tops in Division I boys' soccer

EXETER — Asa Berolzheimer and Xavier Tchana each scored to lead top-seeded Hanover to a 2-0 victory over No. 2 Alvirne of Hudson in the state Division I boys' soccer final on Sunday night at Exeter High.
It marks the first Division I title for Hanover and the 18th overall in program history.
Hanover goalie Alex Bynum notched the shutout.
Hanover was 19-0-1, finishing with 16 shutouts. Alvirne, which had a 14-game win streak, finished 17-3.
Entering the game, Alvirne knew goals against Hanover were going to be hard to produce. Hanover had allowed just five goals all year, posting 15 shutouts. During the regular season, Merrimack was the only team to score twice off the Marauders.
Alvirne also was facing a talented offense with Hanover scoring 65 goals in 19 games.
During the regular season, Alvirne lost a 4-0 decision to the Marauders.
