Clem Lemire, R.I.P.: One of Manchester's best
Clem Lemire died last week, but if anyone's spirit will be felt in the Queen City for years to come, it will be Clem's. He loved every spot of open land that a geographically small city has to offer, and he made many of those spots better.
Clem served the public long before he took Parks and Recreation management posts in his native Franklin, then in Newington, Conn., and finally here in Manchester. He served as a U.S. Marine during World War II and was a longtime member of American Legion Sweeney Post thereafter.
