Four-alarm fire destroys Madbury home

MADBURY - A four-alarm fire destroyed what is described as an old colonial-style home Sunday morning on Cherry Street.

The fire, at 65 Cherry St., was reported to  Madbury Fire Department shortly after 9 a.m. and the first volunteer firefighters on the scene reported the structure fully involved in flame.

A second alarm was ordered within minutes and additional alarms brought engine companies and tanker trucks to the scene from nearby communities.

There was no immediate report of injuries at the scene.
