Seven displaced by Franklin fire

November 08. 2013 11:11PM

FRANKLIN — Seven people were displaced Friday by a fire that damaged the Robert's Market building on Hill Road, according to a release from the Fire Department.

Occupants were inside three of the building's six apartments when the fire was reported about 4:30 p.m. Friday, though all were able to exit the building safely after a clerk of the store, which is on the building's first floor, knocked on doors to alert people to the fire, the release said.

The American Red Cross placed the displaced occupants in hotel rooms, the release said.

The cause of the fire was not determined Friday night, but the occupants lost nearly all their possessions, the release said.
