Sunapee tops Derryfield girls in Division IV soccer semi
In a game decided on penalty kicks third-ranked Sunapee out-lasted second-ranked Derryfield School of Manchester 2-1 in the semifinals of the NHIAA Division IV girls’ soccer tournament Wednesday at Laconia High.
Sunapee grabbed the early lead at the 21:04 mark on an unassisted goal from Abby Armstrong. Derryfield scored the equalizer at 65:34 on an unassisted goal from Gabi Brummett.
Sunapee won the penalty kicks battle, 3-1. Derryfield keeper Cameron Huftalen and Sunapee goalie Erika Waterman each played a strong game in net.
