Concord mayor James Bouley reelected

CONCORD — Incumbent Mayor James Bouley cruised to reelection victory on Tuesday, winning all 10 wards in the city and besting his closest opponent by 3,975 votes. He won his fouth term as mayor in Concord, a largely ceremonial post in a city whose day to day affairs are run by a city manager.

Opponent John Cook received 385 votes in complete but unofficial returns. Chris Booth received 279.

The two open City Council at large seats when to Amanda Grady Sexton, who received 2,761 votes, and Fred Keach, at 2, 290.

Results of other contested races are:

• In Ward 2, Allan Herschlag easily won election to the council seat.

• In Ward 3, Jan McClure was elected to the council, besting her closest challenger, Jennifer Kretovic, 220 to 171.

• In Ward 4, Bryon Champlin received 315 votes, easily beating two challengers for the council seat.

• In Ward 8, Gail Matson defeated Dennis Soucy for the council spot by a vote of 151 to 141. George “Rusty” Cofrin won the Ward 8 school board seat.

• In Ward 9, George “Rusty” Cofrin defeated George Jack 181 to 81.

• In Ward 10, George “Rusty” Cofrin defeated George Jack, 404 to 104, for the school board seat.
