Third time the charm? Ayotte again seeks NH ‘Obamacare’ data from Sebelius
After receiving no answer from Sebelius for the past two weeks, a “disappointed” Ayotte on Tuesday sent her a third letter.
She again asked how many Granite Staters “have tried to access and create an account,” and were able to sign up for an insurance plan, through the Affordable Care Act exchange.
She also again asked how long it will take for the exchange’s “technical problems” to be resolved.
Ayotte, a Republican, added that she has “heard from many Granite Staters who are receiving health insurance cancellation notices despite the President’s promise that Americans would be able to keep their insurance plans.”
“While the administration is encouraging these individuals to shop for new health insurance plans on the exchange, many consumers are unable to create an account or access plan information due to widespread website failures. I am also troubled by reports that the administration failed to complete a full security test of the exchange website prior to October 1, putting consumers’ personal information at risk,” Ayotte wrote, adding that those “directly responsible” for implementing the ACA should provide an explanation.
