Manchester man robbed at knifepoint near Victory Garage

MANCHESTER - A 27-year-old city man was robbed at knife point Saturday night as he walked in the area of Amherst and Vine streets, police said.

Police said the man was heading to his car, parked in the area of the Victory Garage, about 11:40 p.m. when two men approached him, one brandishing a knife. They demanded his wallet, which he gave them, and then they ran off.

He said the robbers were males, both about 5-foot-11 and wore dark hooded sweatshirts and jeans.

Following the robbery, the man went to his car and drove to his West Side apartment where he called police.
