BRADLEY BIRKENFELD

Birkenfeld is a former USB banker who turned whistleblower and made international headlines for giving the Internal Revenue Service information about tax fraud within the banking industry. He was convicted of fraud, but after three years of negotiations with federal authorities, he was paid $104 million — the largest federal whistleblower award in history. The award was announced Sept. 11, 2012, and Birkenfeld remains on probation, according to public records.
