I-89 tractor-trailer crash in Springfield leaves driver injured

SPRINGFIELD - A truck driver was injured Friday when his tractor-trailer slid across Interstate 89 and went off the road, state police said.

Enkland Terepeli, 35, of Elizabeth, N.J., was driving too fast in heavy rain about 11:45 a.m. Friday when he lost control of his truck, police said. The truck's fuel tanks ruptured, spilling about 100 gallons of diesel fuel, police said.

Terepeli was taken to New London Hospital for treatment of injuries that police said were not life threatening.
